Suez Beginning Water Main Replacement In Blauvelt

BLAUVELT, N.Y. -- After two recent water main breaks in Blauvelt, SUEZ Water will begin replacing 1,200 feet of pipe along Van Wyck Road between Erie Street and Blauvelt Road Monday.

The project is expected to be complete around Dec. 9.

The work will be performed from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

SUEZ is coordinating with South Orangetown Central School District officials to minimize traffic disruptions at South Orangetown Middle School, particularly during dismissal time around 3 p.m.

With the exception of some brief intervals, both the school and SUEZ customers in the area are expected to have water service for the duration of the project.

Customers will be notified in advance of any stoppages.
